P. K. Wilcox (Paige Krystal Wilcox) is an award-winning Australian author, actress, and activist, recognized for her compelling narratives and dedicated advocacy work. Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, and assigned male at birth, Paige spent her formative years in regional Queensland communities before moving to Brisbane for high school and further studies in Film, Television, and Theatre Acting.
Following her education, Paige navigated the complexities of gender transition, undertaking medical treatments to align her physical appearance with her female identity. She first gained online visibility through a candid YouTube series in 2012 detailing her transition journey. After a period away from the public eye, she returned with a personal blog in 2015, followed by the semi-autobiographical Memoirable novella series (2016-2018), which delves into her life experiences before, during, and after her transition. Paige notes that this series began partly as a way to reclaim her personal story and counter media misrepresentation, fictionalizing characters and locations to focus on the emotional truth of her experiences. Her writing also includes the fictional novel Regina v Bride.
Beyond her writing, Paige is a committed activist. In 2018, her contributions were recognized when she was awarded Trans Activist of the Year at Brisbane Pride’s 57th Annual Queen’s Ball Awards, an event she also co-hosted. She has written about her experiences for organizations like Out for Australia, where she served as Director of State Development, and has shared her perspective through posts and interviews with institutions like The University of Queensland. Paige's work consistently explores themes of identity, resilience, adversity, and the importance of authentic storytelling.
