Kevin Flinn

Dr Kevin Flinn is a Senior Lecturer in Executive Education at Liverpool John Moores University, a certified Group Work practitioner with the Institute of Group Analysis, and a founding member of the Creating Large Group Dialogue in Organisations and Society programme and research community.

His latest book is Organisational Development in Practice: A Complexity Approach.

Reviewers say:

In the spirit of scholarly practitioners such as Ralph Stacey, S.H Foulkes and Patrick de Maré - on whose legacy he builds - Flinn works at the interface between theory and practice to actively engage readers and learners in the processes of sensemaking and mobilising action in contexts of extreme ambiguity and uncertainty.

Richard Bolden, Professor of Leadership and Management, University of the West of England

If you want a nice comfortable read – this book isn’t it …. But if you want to be provoked into thinking differently about OD, leadership, and your place in the world – this book is for you! Because at its heart lies insights relating to our ethical responsibility to others, the importance of constantly learning, and of paying attention to what it means to be a human being.

Ann Cunliffe, Professor of Organization Studies, FGV-EAESP, Brazil

The manner in which Flinn unfolds his unconventional approach to OD is itself unconventional – but also deeply engaging. Explicating his ideas with clarity, nuance, wit and elegance, Flinn constructs his narrative through multiple forms of expression such as prose, poetry, literary analysis, stories, personal reflection and real and imagined dialogue with and by others.
