Hi, everyone! My first story was published a really long time ago. I thought I'd be a science fiction writer like my mother; instead dark fantasy, gothic settings, complicated and eccentric people, and travel appeared in my short stories, novels and stage plays. Then I went to graduate school and learned academic writing, which turns out is an entirely different form of writing that involves entirely different kinds of complicated and eccentric people. In the years since my first story I've worked as a nurse, teach grad students (ironic, huh?), and I'm a disaster medical responder. I love to travel; read for leisure in a recliner with or without a glass of full-bodied red wine, but always with my dogs and cats around me; and I'm so incredibly fortunate to start writing again with my recent novels. Here's hoping you enjoy a step into a world of dark fantasy, gothic settings in some cases, and always those complicated and eccentric people!
