When he's not doing his day job, Gareth Baker lives in a world of his own (just ask anyone who knows him), along with his son, countless dust mites (not really, he's very tidy and kind of clean), superhero comics, books, films - especially fantasy and Hong Kong cinema - and computer games. He likes to deliberately say words wrong, plays the violin (once a year) and the ukulele. He plays Singstar and wishes he could draw.

Gareth grew up in the countryside on farms all over England. His father was a shepherd and, while he didn't always appreciate being "out in the sticks" as a child, he now realises that it was one of the best things that happened to him.

Growing up in the late 70s and 80s left Gareth forever obsessed with heroes and their path of discovery and greatness. He grew up watching Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, The Three Musketeers, Robin of Sherwood, Disney's Zorro TV serial, The Water Margin and Monkey (he didn't like The A-Team or Knight-Rider and prefered Bluethunder to Airwolf). Living in the country allowed him to disappear for hours, reenacting battles and heroic rescues as well as creating his own. It is this childhood, and his still child-like soul, that Gareth now uses to create Brackenbelly, his own hero, and his journey.

He looks forward to sharing Brackenbelly's next adventure with you soon.

In the meantime, why not "Like" The Adventures of Brackenbelly on Facebook and stay in touch with the latest news and developments in the world of Kinmara.
