Holly Doherty

Though she didn't realize it at the time, Holly Doherty began her public speaking career at Harford Heights Elementary School in Baltimore, MD, winning Regional Dramatic Reading Contests with selections such as "The Adventures of Isabel" by Ogden Nash and "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

She wrote mysteries in elementary school and (really bad) teen romance novels in middle and high school. In high school, she won 3 annual Rotary Club Speech Contests.

She still reads "The Adventures of Isabel" to her daughter, and she now dedicates her time to strengthening families through self-esteem and simplicity.

Holly understands that people are busy. It seems that mothers of young children, especially, barely have time to shower, let alone read long-winded books. She writes for these busy women, giving them resources that can be read quickly and are full of useful information they can put into practice right away.

Her first book, The Magic of Family Meals: 115 Conversation Starters to Keep Your Kids Safe, Strong and Sober was published in 2012.

Holly Doherty is an adoptive mother of one beautiful girl and, Lord willing, the will-be adoptive mother of 2 darlings who live in her heart but have not yet come to live in her home. She lives in the Phoenix Valley of Arizona with her husband, daughter, and 2 cats. She loves her husband, homeschools her daughter and tries (unsuccessfully) to train her cats.
