M. L. Stainer is the pen name of a retired high school English teacher, Margaret Campilonga. She has been writing all her life and has the five Lyon Saga books to her credit and a children's series on color, plus three published poetry books. Margaret has several young adult novels ready to be published, including five science-fiction novels.
She was born in London and holds several advanced degrees from Queens College, New Paltz and Fordham University. She lives in the lower Hudson Valley area of New York, with her husband, Frank, and several beloved dogs and cats.
She will have a new book coming out this year called JOACHIM'S MAGIC, about the ill-fated 1585 expedition and its explorers including Joachim Gans, the first recorded Jew in the New World. They were searching for gold, silver and especially, copper for Elizabeth I's navy. Told from the point of view of a young teenager, it chronicles the many hardships and dangers they faced, and the prejudices they brought with them.
