Essa última dinâmica é o que interessa essa agenda sintetizada em Empresariado e ditadura no Brasil, que reúne um conjunto de trabalhos de investigação sobre as relações favoráveis à acumulação criadas por um regime que além de reprimir, prender e assassinar opositores políticos, implementou reformas no Estado brasileiro e uma arquitetura legislativa que garantiu altas taxas de lucratividade para o grande capital. Eis uma dimensão essencial sem a qual não é possível compreender como parte considerável do empresariado brasileiro não só apoiou aquele regime como patrocinou e se comprometeu com estratégias sanguinárias de combate à oposição, como foi o caso notório da Operação Bandeirantes em São Paulo, para ficar num exemplo. Sem situar esse ponto, pode-se cair em leituras psicologizantes, que pouco esclarecem a questão. Não que aqueles tempos não tenham sido de corrupção, como comumente apelam os assassinos da memória encastelados nos quartéis, nas redes sociais e no Planalto. Mas o assunto aqui são as estratégias com as quais os donos do dinheiro formaram fortunas faraônicas num ambiente de aumento exponencial das taxas de exploração da classe trabalhadora e na abertura de novas fronteiras para o capitalismo.
