Sheldon Cashdan is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts and the author of several professional books including two on psychotherapy. He retired from teaching to write full-time and has since published "The Witch Must Die", a book exploring the hidden meaning of fairy tales, primarily those of the Grimm brothers. His latest work, a historical novel titled "Emma von N.", is a psychological mystery set in fin de siècle Vienna that describes a love affair between Sigmund Freud and one of his patients.
