Jacques E.C. Hymans is Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Southern California. His research focus is on nuclear proliferation, and more broadly, on foreign policy, national identity, and international security affairs. Hymans' The Psychology of Nuclear Proliferation: Identity, Emotions, and Foreign Policy (Cambridge University Press, 2006) received the Edgar S. Furniss Book Award for best first book in national and international security, and the Alexander L. George Book Award for best book in political psychology. Now he has written a new book entitled Achieving Nuclear Ambitions: Scientists, Politicians, and Proliferation (Cambridge University Press, 2012).
