The book is from the library of iconic Burroughs bibliographer Henry Hardy Heins, with his book plate laid in. Light dustiness to the tops of the pages. Otherwise minimal wer to both the book & DJ. However the DJ flaps have been glued to the paste downs. A nice copy with a significant flaw but a notable association.

Hardcover. Zustand: F+. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Fine+ in Fine+ dust jacket. First printing of the Canaveral edition with 1963 at bottom of title page. Dark green cloth with black lettering, several cloth bindings exist with no priority. Canaveral allowed printers to use any available cloth to save money. From an edition of around 3000-4000 copies. A very fine copy in a like clipped dust jacket, jacket with brodart cover. Zeuschner 241.

Square, tight and clean throughout. Perhaps a hint of wear to the spine ends and tips but barely. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($3.50), has a miniscule closed tear on the top of the front flap but is fresh and bright with no chipping or creases. A gorgeous collectible copy. ( Zeuschner, #241).

Ink name of Walter Short dated Sep. 8, 1944. Bears a slight resemblance to General Walter C. Scott but he always included "C" in his signatures. FIRST EDITION.

A stated 1st edition ( blue cloth w/red lettering) of Burroughs' 6th Pellucidar (inner world) novel. The DJ illustration is by Burroughs' son - John Coleman Burroughs. The DJ appears to have been trimmed slightly but is otherwise in good shape with some fading to the spine. THe book has wear along the top edges with some loss at the top of the spine. The FEPs have spotting & stains that carry forward at the edges for a couple of pages - in the front through the half-tittle page and in the back to page 315. Overall a flawed but good or better copy of a hard to find ERB, Inc 1st.

ERB print record shows 3500 copies printed, it was submitted to several pulps, but never published in magazine form, evidence of ERB waning appeal at the time. DJ art by ERB youngest son John Coleman Burroughs. VG or better book. Small bump to top front corner of board. VG+ DJ with chipping to the top of the spine and general wear, now in a brodart jacket.
