Fresh off his victorious Italian campaign, Napoleon Bonaparte returns to Paris and begins planning his invasion of England. Through his vast network of spies, the Duke of Denver becomes aware of the plot and enlists the aid of Lord Bran Gruffudd in his quest to turn the tables on France's ambitious young general. Allying himself with the son of a disposed French aristocrat, Bran heads to France to secretly retrieve the plans, only to have the whole affair blow up in his face. Injured, but with his prize in hand, Bran is forced to navigate the treacherous path back to England. However, Napoleon's chief lieutenants are not about to allow their leader's carefully laid schemes to fall into the possession of the British, and Bran soon learns that his trail is being dogged by a ruthless agent of the French government. Only with the aid of unanticipated allies is Bran able to complete his mission, but he also soon learns his victory may not be worth the cost. At risk of losing all he holds dear, Bran must once again enter the breach, but this time against an enemy he may not be capable of defeating.
