Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
This is the first book that Sarah-Jane has written and it now appears as helpful reading material in the library at Cancer Research UK, and also in the boutique reading library at Breast Cancer Care in Western Australia. Sarah-Jane was born in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands and lived in Shropshire, England for the first thee years with my family, before being whisked away to Rhodesia where she spent her early childhood. She returned to the United Kingdom to finish her education, and pursue her career in travel. I have made my home in a tiny village in Bedfordshire where time is devoted to bringing up my two daughters, a female cat (following a mix up with its gender) and a Shih Tzu called Freddie, whom I named after one of the surgeons who saved my life. My husband can mostly take care of himself. My interests range from a deep love of boy bands to raising money for a charity which is very close to my heart, Breakthrough Breast Cancer. I have survived two forms of cancer. As a result you can find me doing anything from jiggling collections pots at local supermarkets, to hosting black tie events to raise money for Breakthrough and other related charities. Worms on Parachutes, symbolising my inner allies in my cancer survival , came to fruition after being so inspired by my surgeon. He operated on me several times, one particular operation lasted many hours. I felt the best way to thank him and his team was to write a book in order to raise funds for the under-appreciated heroes of my hospital team that treated me exceptionally well. I have been involved in media opportunities in The Stylist magazine and also commented on how breast cancer has impacted on my life in the Independent and the Independent i. I am an avid supporter of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and am very keen to help raise awareness of breast cancer in my community.
