Über diesen Titel

The World Drug Report provides an authoritative picture of what we actually do and don't know about illicit drug production and trafficking around the world. Most books on the subject of drugs are written from a single analytical viewpoint, such as health, crime, or the law. The World Drug Report fills the gap by providing comprehensive international coverage of all the principal drug problems, beginning with why people start to take drugs.
This Report, the first in a biennial series sponsored by the United Nations International Drug Control Programme, draws on the experiences of UNDCP's staff in Vienna Headquarters and in twenty field offices around the world, on the latest academic research, and on the contributions of internationally renowned experts. The report is aimed at:

policy makers - to help them to evaluate a range of drug policy options and their potential impact

the general public - as a readable guide to the complexities of the drug problem

students - as a comprehensive reference text on drugs

Special features include:

* The first discussion of legalization to consider the impact on developing countries

* Detailed statistical profiles of 8 selected countries - US, UK, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Thailand, Pakistan, and Columbia, which analyze the drug problem in its socio-economic, educational, and demographic context.

* The facts about drug injection and communicable diseases

* An economic analysis of the illicit drugs industry (including money laundering)

* 5 Expert contributions on
-Drugs and young people in Peru
-Initiation into Drug Injection
-Drugs and Violence
-`Designer Drugs'.

BookLovers of Bath is based in the rural idyll of Peasedown St. John in Somerset (God's Own Country) in the south west of England and actually very nearly in Bath. After 20 years of being “internet only” I have now opened a shop, Fact or Fable, in the premises of our now-closed Post Office. With over 20,000 books in stock and another 5,000 or so in the shop I run an old-fashioned book business with every book listed, graded, picked, packed and posted by my own fair hand… abetted by my Jack Russells who are really, not, helpful.
