In addition to many journal articles, Thompson has previously authored Democracy and Patricipation at Work, Palgrave; A Handbook of Work and Organisation, OUP; and the highly successful third edition of Work Organisations.

DAVID MCHUGH is a Senior Lecturer in the HRM& Leadership Division at the Lancashire Business School, part of the University of Central Lancashire, UK.
