Amid the disruption of the pandemic shutdown, Bob Gold sought a way to connect with people amidst the separation, isolation, and growing uncertainty. Teaming up with poet Ryan Ashley, the duo created a series of poems to celebrate family and friends. The works in Words to Lift By capture the spirit of its subjects in poignant and heartfelt language.

With artwork by Bonnie Lee Holland and photographs by Marcia Gold, Words to Lift By transcends the dysfunction of our era. Take a moment to explore this volume and savor the power of uplifting words.

Bob Gold is a storyteller. His kids, family, friends, and clients have been gifted with poems composed to recognize their heroic living in the day-to-day of the pandemic. But mostly he tells stories about his clients through his public relations and marketing agency, Bob Gold & Associates (www.bobgoldpr.com). If you ever want to hear a story, joke, or really interesting piece of trivia, just ask him. And when it comes to words-he will tell you how very special you are.

Poetry is my gift and I have danced with words for as long as I can remember. Poetry written on a typewriter for people gave me purpose. My vocabulary is strong, but what makes me especially good at what I do is the authentically empathetic nature I hold that allows me to connect with anyone on a deep level. At the end of the day, all I want to do is connect and create something beautiful and meaningful for you to hold forever. For this book, I am happy to share the poems that I created for my new friend whom I have never met in person, Bob Gold. Also included in the book are eleven inspiring poems I am sharing that are meant for everyone. They are accompanied by an illustration created by my beautiful fiancée's daughter, Hana.I hope you find in all of these poems a touch of the joy I felt creating them, and I invite you all to find your own Words to Lift By and share them with someone you love. For more information on the poet and his services, visit www.ryanashleythepoet.com.
