Recognizing the dire threats of climate collapse and mass extinction, the global initiative Bauhaus Earth convened a team of scientists, architects, spatial planners, and policymakers from around the world to author a manifesto. Wiederverflechtungen: Eine Charta für unsere Städte und den Planeten is a call for radical transformation. It challenges all those with a role in the conception, production, operation, and governance of the building sector to address the systemic ecological, climatic, and social impacts incurred by its activities.
Twelve principles of " re-entanglement" guide the redesign of the entire life cycle of the urban realm: the reforming and rematerializing of the physical artifacts that comprise it, the reconfiguring of the socioeconomic structures that underpin it, and the reengaging of the bioregions that might sustainably supply it. In this way, the unprecedented convergence of the environmental and social crises we are causing offers powerful opportunities for systemic change.
Philipp Misselwitz ist Architekt und Stadtplaner. Er leitet die Habitat Uni am Institut für Architektur der TU Berlin und ist außerdem Geschäftsführer von Bauhaus Earth, einem interdisziplinären Thinktank und Forschungszentrum mit dem Ziel, Gebäude und menschliche Siedlungen aus ihrer Rolle als Treiber von Klima- und Gesellschaftskrisen zu befreien und in kreative Kräfte für die Neugestaltung bestehender Systeme zu verwandeln.
Alan Organschi ist Geschäftsführer und Partner bei Gray Organschi Architecture, einem preisgekrönten Studio für Architektur und Holzbau mit Sitz in den USA. Aktuell ist er als Direktor der Innovation Labs bei Bauhaus Earth tätig. Organschi ist leitendes Mitglied an der Fakultät der Yale School of Architecture, an der er zwei Jahrzehnte lang Architekturdesign und Gebäudetechnik lehrte.

Alan Organschi is a principal and partner at Gray Organschi Architecture, an award-winning, US based architecture and timber building practice. He currently serves as director of the Innovation Labs at Bauhaus Earth and is a senior member of the faculty at the Yale School of Architecture where he has taught architectural design and building technology for two decades.
