Über diesen Titel

Inhaltsangabe:

A tour through America's changing political climate is seen through the career of former U.S. congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman, the youngest woman ever to be elected to Congress, and shares her personal experiences and theories about modern government.

Rezension:

Elizabeth Holtzman rose fast in politics and fell hard. She was elected as a Democrat to Congress at 31 and was a star and a role model for many young women at the 1974 Watergate hearings; but she lost badly in Senate races in 1980 and 1992, and then failed to win re-election as New York City Comptroller in 1994. In those losing battles, Holtzman confronted a great deal of personal vilification. "In the comptroller's race I was often called a 'witch'," she writes. Here Holtzman gives her side of the story of her political career.
