“A new paradigm of what’s possible for all of us.” —Hal Elrod, international bestselling author of The Miracle Morning

Addicted to opioids and standing before a federal judge for narcotics possession, twenty-two-year-old Jesse Harless believed his life was over.

It was only beginning.

That rock-bottom moment led Jesse on an odyssey of following his intuition into the unknown, finding recovery, and helping others do the same.

In If Not You, Then Who?, Jesse holds nothing back as he shares the raw devastation and miraculous triumph of his own addiction story. He discovers that recovery is far more than just sobriety; it is a lifelong journey of healing, growth, and transformation that requires consistent action.

He then shares his FEARS recovery toolkit, which contains the same tools, techniques, and habits he used to co-create a life he’s passionate about living:

• Focus on your recovery

• Elevate your recovery

• Appreciate your recovery

• Resilience in recovery

• Self-care in recovery

Your story matters. No matter who you are, where you’ve been, or what you’ve done—nothing has been wasted. It’s possible to co-create the life of your dreams. The time is now.

If not you, then who?

Reviews

“Jesse Harless has written a true master guide to recovery. His personal story is raw and deeply revealing. He could have easily justified a lifetime of self-destruction, wallowing in the pain of an unfair childhood. Instead, he took that pain and transformed himself into a true sober warrior, using his unique abilities to help others. There are many paths to recovery from addiction, but they all start with true acknowledgment of pain. Jesse could have stopped there, and this book would still have great value. But he has created a true roadmap to healthy sobriety through taking certain actions, digging deeply into the source of pain but also giving the reader real growth exercises and showing them how to be accountable to the results. This book should be on every shelf, whether you are a recovery professional or someone seeking to build a new and better life.” —Charlie Engle, ultramarathon runner and author of Running Man

“Jesse Harless is a gifted storyteller able to share his own ‘gritty’ recovery journey and his intuitive life lessons in a way that invites us all to suit up and show up once more in the exciting game of life!” —Jean LaCour, PhD, founder of ICARE (International Center for Addiction and Recovery Education)

“Jesse Harless’s powerful story of addiction and recovery would be enough to inspire and motivate others dealing with similar struggles. But he also brings to this book a practical step-by-step recovery plan to put that inspiration and motivation into action.” —Lisa Smith, bestselling author of Girl Walks Out of a Bar

“Jesse uses his inspiring personal story to provide a method of transformational change that will be of benefit to anyone, at any point, on a journey of recovery. The FEARS recovery toolkit and the inclusion of specific action steps make this a book that individuals, clinicians, and others on the support teams of individuals can all benefit from. All clinicians working with those in recovery should be familiar with the FEARS recovery toolkit and recommend this book and its action steps to those they support.”—Dr. Cynthia Whitaker, President & CEO, Greater Nashua Mental Health
