The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) often seems to relish its division more that it celebrates the unity that exists within the denomination. In What Unites Presbyterians, Clifton Kirkpatrick and William Hopper compellingly call attention to the ties that bind Presbyterians together as a community of faith.
Clifton Kirkpatrick is the former Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a position in which he served from 1996 to 2008. Since 2004 he has also served as President of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches. William H. Hopper Jr. is a Presbyterian minister who has served as pastor, missionary, and denominational leader. He is coauthor (with Clifton Kirkpatrick) of What Unites Presbyterians: Common Ground for Troubled Times.
