Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Paperback; Measures Trade Paperback (9¼" x 6") (0.3 kg); pp 158; Index; From the introduction: "This book treads a dangerous line, concerned as it is with costs: the costs borne by the Travelling and non-Travelling communities as a consequence of the former having insufficient and inappropriate accommodation. The line is a dangerous one for many reasons, most obviously because it might suggest that social exclusion and human misery are amenable to a simple analysis of costs and benefits. A less obvious, but equally serious, danger is that which is inherent in all quantification exercises of this nature that by particularising the cost of everything, little or nothing of value is revealed. This study is based on research carried out between 1999 and 2001, including a survey of all of the local authorities in the United Kingdom. The survey focused on the costs that these authorities had incurred as a consequence of inadequate provision of accommodation for Gypsies and other Travellers.". || The book is on the shelf, ready to be appropriately packed, and posted from the pastoral paradise of Peasedown St. John, Bath, by a real bookseller in a real book shop - with my personal guarantee and beady eye on the Consumer Contracts Regulations. REMEMBER! Buying my copy means the book shop Jack Russells get their supper! My Book #161625 ||.…

Shopbeschreibung

BookLovers of Bath is based in the rural idyll of Peasedown St. John in Somerset (God's Own Country) in the south west of England and actually very nearly in Bath. After 20 years of being “internet only” I have now opened a shop, Fact or Fable, in the premises of our now-closed Post Office. With over 10,000 books in my, recently shrunken, storage unit and another 5,000 or so in the shop I run an old-fashioned book business with every book listed, graded, picked, packed and posted by my own fair hand… abetted by my Jack Russells who are really, not, helpful.…
