The Sermon on the Mount is an iconic portion of the Gospel according to Matthew. Many people, like Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Luther King, Jr., Bishop Desmond Tutu, and Nelson Mandela, have been transformed by it. However, there are still large swathes of the Christian Church that ironically think that the sermon is an ideal that is either not for us or not for this period in which we live. Deepak takes the view that the sermon is programmatic for discipleship to Jesus and, therefore, a bedrock of the Christian faith. In these devotions, Deepak takes the reader through the Sermon on the Mount with the conviction that following Jesus begins here and provides us with the foundations to withstand the storms of life.
