A complete resource guide for aspiring or current dog trainers. Reading this book is like sitting down for a chat with an established, professional trainer who is willing to share the best inside secrets. The step-by-step advice includes a discussion of what it's really like to work with dogs---and their owners, who can sometimes be the bigger challenge; whether a career as a dog trainer is financially realistic; how to go about getting an education, with a guide to specific resources; building your confidence; setting up your business; advertising; group classes; in-home sessions; phone tips; safety tips; trainer etiquette; products and tools no trainer should be without.

This second edition offers expanded sections on education, products, and resources, and an all-new additional section on web site advertising. This book is required reading for many train-the-trainer courses for good reason, and is the perfect start to your dog training career.
