Alurich Korall and Freya live as one entity. They are a married couple that has been taken hostage by the Black Coats, a top secret organization ordered to execute the citizens of their own land along with prisoners of war. The wistfully battered captives aren't given any sympathy from their treacherous commandant Colonel Hugo Snyder. Life soon turns eventful for all, as paths intertwine in a series of mishaps, murder, and mutiny. Years go by, and Alurich is drawn into an infatuation with a young beauty, Viktoria Von Buren, whose mystery haunts him. Ironically, the only steady link to their relationship is her son, Kerry, whose telepathy holds a key insight to the troubled past. The Waking Hour is a suspense drama of biting intellect that tackles psychological principles and philosophical values. The underlying premise identifies the absurdity and danger of negative reinforcement used as a means of social propaganda. Eventually the effects take their permanent toll of cruelty towards casualty. Though extreme, universal harmony and the unity between complimentary opposites are met through symbolism of the ancient Tao. The result is a work of extraordinary and complex illustration into humanity that marks the arrival of a major new talent.
