He is the author of Kingfisher Knowledge: Castles & Forts, Kingfisher Knowledge: Life in Ancient Rome, The Kingfisher Atlas of the Ancient World and The Kingfisher Atlas of the Medieval World.

Kent Weeks is an eminent Egyptologist who spends several months each year sailing on the Nile river in his boat The Kingfisher. Kent is well-known for his work on the Theban Mapping Project, which he started in 1978. One of the project's largest finds was the rediscovery of KVS-the tomb of the sons of Pharaoh Ramses II.
