Where do we go when we die? At the time of death, do we automatically get on an escalator to heaven, or do we have a choice to go forward or not? Through communicating with the spirit realm of heaven and earth, Kathleen and Virginia discover that the God-given gift of choice is infinite. Some people choose to remain here, earthbound, after their death. What happens to these lost souls? This is a true story of two women who reach out in love to touch those who are stuck in the quicksand of an existence between worlds. They are not alone. Jesus, the Mother of God, angels, and many others in spirit join them. They are guided, supported, and protected each step of the way. In A Voice Loud as Thunder, we meet two earthbound spirits (ghosts) who died in 1863. One is a Native American from the area now known as Rancho Cucamonga, California, and the other is a soldier who was sent to this state to kill Native Americans. Through their journey of forgiveness and love, we learn how to release our anger and fears that have the power to hold us in an earthbound state after we die. The conversations between these two women and those in the spiritual realm give us an insight into a world that many of us never explore. They bring love, light, and truth to a subject that has been misunderstood by many.

CHAPTER 1
The Voice of Thunder
The First Night
"You need voice loud as thunder!"
These are the first words my friend, Kathleen, channelsfrom the one in spirit, who later becomes our friend. He's thebeginning of our work in serving those who are earthbound. In thebeginning we have no idea where this path will lead us. Who is thisman and why is he here?
It's a cool, crisp, breezy evening on October 23, 1998. Kathleenand I are sitting inside my car in a church parking lot. We're parkedacross the street from an old house in Rancho Cucamonga, California. In the past few weeks, we've felt ourselves being drawn to this house.Could this be the site we're seeking for a healing center? Is this God'splan for us? We've come here to pray for guidance.
Again, Kathleen repeats the words, "You need voice loud asthunder." Kathleen has the gift to see and hear those in spirit.
I ask, "What are you talking about?" I'm confused. She had beenspeaking to an angel about the availability of the house, and now she'stelling me something about thunder.
Kathleen says, "There's a very large Native American manstanding directly in front of the car. His head is thrown back withhis bare chest thrust forward. I get the feeling he wants to impressus with his large size. He's holding his arms up toward the sky andpounding his fists in the air. The wind's blowing his hair all aroundhis head."
Again, he cries out, "You need voice loud as thunder!"
Kathleen is allowing him to speak through her so I can hear hiswords.
Who is this man, and why is he here?
Kathleen says, "What do your words mean? We don't understand."
He explains, "Thunder is the voice of Creator, speaking truthloud and clear, for all to hear. I have used these words with otherswho have come here to chase me away. They come with their blackbooks [Bibles], pushing them in my face. They command me toleave. `Be gone in the name of Jesus,' they shout. When I approachthem with truth, they scatter like crows screaming in the wind. Youneed to speak with Creator's voice. Proclaim your truth loud and clearfor all to hear."
Are these words a prophecy of what is to come? Why do we needvoice loud as thunder?
For anyone reading this, we speak to you now with voices loud asthunder. Let us awaken dear ones if we sleep spiritually. We canawaken to the voice of God, the voice of Truth. The message ofthis book is for those of us with ears that will hear.
"Why have you come?" he demands.
We explain our intentions for a healing center where people cancome for spiritual retreats, classes, and different forms of healingwork. As we talk, he moves closer to us, and we can feel himobserving our spiritual energies. We invite him to look into ourhearts, since we have nothing to hide.
In the spirit realm where he exists, energy can be seen. We areaware that he can observe the energy of our feelings.
He says, "I thought you would run in fear, but I can see you havebig hearts for love."
We don't know why we aren't afraid of this man. We only feellove and compassion for him. We offer introductions, but he doesn'twant to know our names. He won't tell us his name either.
I ask him, "Why do you stay in this place?"
He shows Kathleen a vision of this area as it was when he walkedthe earth in a physical form. She sees crops growing and aqueductsflowing with water from the mountains. There are men, women, andchildren involved in their daily activities. Where an intersection istoday, Kathleen sees a ceremonial circle—a sacred gathering place—waslocated there during his lifetime.
We find it interesting that in our present day there are twochurches at opposite corners of this intersection, and the old house sitson another corner. This was a sacred space in the day of the NativeAmerican Indians and continues to be a place of worship.
Our new friend then shows Kathleen a regiment of white mencoming, carrying a red triangular flag. She views a battle where manyare killed, including women and children. Blood is shed on bothsides. This is the final day for him and his people.
We can feel his pain and realize this is the reason why he lingersand feels he can't leave. What is the rest of his story? We can onlyhope he will share it with us, and maybe we'll be able to assist himin returning to his heavenly home. We offer him words of comfortand apologize for what has been done. We feel a sorrow deep withinus for the Native American people who have suffered.
Kathleen asks our friend if we can return.
He answers, "When you can hear Earth Mother's song, then Iwill speak to you." He shows Kathleen a vision of us literally puttingour ear to the ground.
We have done healing work with planet Earth and are aware ofGod's life in all creation. Perhaps he's referring to the heartbeat ofall living things and Earth having its own heartbeat. As we leave,Kathleen decides to gather a scoop of dirt from this place to takehome with us. We aren't sure what we'll do with this dirt. Maybe ifwe pray over it, somehow that will help our friend.
As we drive away, we feel a commitment, a responsibility for thisdear man. We have found an earthbound spirit. We feel love for himand don't want to abandon him. If we don't reach out to this one,who will? Will someone else come along, or will he be forgotten?
We know we have begun a new journey into a land we haven'texplored before. We have so many unanswered questions in ourminds. We talk for a long time, discussing all that's happened. Wedon't know...
