Discover how Bible people really lived. What did they look like? What did they wear? What did they eat? What did they live in? What did they use for money? What kind of tools did they use? What were their ships like? The Victor Handbook of Bible Knowledge answers these and other questions you or your children may ask. This 640-page reference book contains more than 1,100 photographs and drawings, 150 paintings, plus many maps, charts, and diagrams -- all to help you and your children better appreciate and understand 150 Old Testament stories and 150 stories in the New Testament. V. GILBERT BEERS has been writing and developing Bible reference materials for more than fifty years. Beers is best known for books for both children and adults, including Toddlers Bible. Gil began his publishing career as editorial director at David C. Cook Publishing Company in the early 1960s, developing its children's curriculum. Later, Gil became a full-time author, writing more than 150 books, with total sales of more than thirteen million copies. From 1982 to 1985, Gil also served as editor of "Christianity Today" magazine. Among his many projects, Gil developed the twenty-three-volume Family Bible Library, a Bible study and devotional program for families; the "Victor Handbook of Bible Knowledge"; and, working side by side with his son Ron, the "TouchPoint Bible" and "TouchPoints" books. His latest book is titled "What Every Child Should Know about the Bible" (August 2009).
