- Buch 4 von 15: The Phantom Avon
For the first time ever, the Avon edition of The Phantom is back in print! Hermes Press is proud to announce that they will be publishing all fifteen pocket Avon books, starting in August 2016, and every other month thereafter! This exciting installment, Volume 4 offers the classic Lee Falk tale: "The Veiled Lady."
Famed artist George Wilson (Dr. Solar, Magnus Robot Fighter, The Phantom) painted the cover for Volume #3 as he did with all of the covers used for the Avon series, and they are reproduced beautifully to keep all of the details from the original books intact for a new generation of Phans to enjoy!
Rising out of the jungles of Bangalla, shrouded by mists and superstitions, is the volcano known as THE VEILED LADY. What is the mystery of THE VEILED LADY? What secrets does she hide from the world? Precious treasure? Unimaginable danger? Many have died trying to find out.
Beautiful blonde Jan Love and her companions do find the astounding truth in earth shaking violence that presents a unique challenge even to the PHANTOM.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Lee Falk, born Leon Harrison Gross, was an American cartoonist, writer, theater director, and producer, best known as the creator of the comic strips Mandrake the Magician and The Phantom. At the height of their popularity, these strips attracted over 100 million readers every day.
George Wilson was a prolific comic book cover illustrator. He is known for his realistic style using oils and acrylics. Wilson worked for Western Publishing, doing the covers for a number of their titles, including over forty issues of "Space Family Robinson", more than thirty issues of Star Trek, and a few covers of The Phantom, and Mighty Samsom. The other company he created numerous comic book covers for was Dell Comics for their Tarzan and Combat releases. Starting out as commercial illustrator after the war he worked for advertisement agencies and publishers such as Dell Publications, Bombay Boomerang, Jove, Avon, and Harlequin Books. It was at Dell that Wilson found his calling as comic book cover illustrator in 1955.
