Vladdy Dracul has one very un-vampire-like problem.

He can’t stand blood.

In fact, it makes him sick.

While his family worries about tradition, vampire elders question whether he belongs, and the entire town expects him to act like a “proper” vampire, Vladdy wants something much simpler: to live without hurting anyone.

Then he discovers smoothies.

Beets. Pomegranates. Cherries. Strawberries. All red. All delicious. And absolutely no biting required.

With the help of Berry, his sarcastic fruit bat, a doctor willing to question old traditions, and a wonderfully strange group of monster misfits, Vladdy begins to wonder if being different might not be a weakness at all.

But when the vampire elders give him until the Blood Moon to prove that a vampire can live without blood—or face banishment—Vladdy must stand up for who he is and show an entire community that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is refuse to become what everyone expects.

The Vegetarian Vampire is a funny, warmhearted middle-grade fantasy about friendship, courage, kindness, belonging, and finding the confidence to create your own way forward.

Perfect for readers who love quirky monsters, spooky schools, talking bats, ridiculous vampire puns, and stories that prove being different can be your greatest strength
