The future of our cities could follow many different paths. We have responsibility to make sure we develop them in a way that protects and enhances the quality of life, not just for us, but for future generations. However, rapid urbanisation, the impact of climate and demographic change is forcing cities to rethink the way we produce, distribute and consume energy, how we move around the city and how we use our natural resources. As you journey through this book you'll discover how the infrastructure of our cities affect our everyday lives. The public exhibition at the Crystal brings these challenges to life and help us consider the answers and solutions for Our Urban Future.
