A Study of the Gospel of Matthew

The Gospel of Matthew is one of the most influential books in the New Testament. Written to present Jesus as the promised Messiah, Matthew carefully connects the life and teachings of Christ with the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. Yet many readers find it difficult to follow the structure and emphasis of the book as a whole.

Understanding the New Testament: A Study of The Gospel of Matthew is designed to help readers work through the gospel carefully and clearly. This study walks through Matthew section by section, explaining how the author develops his message and reveals the identity and mission of Jesus.

What This Study Does

Rather than offering devotional reflections or highly technical commentary, this volume focuses on understanding the biblical text itself.

Each section explains:

• The flow of Matthew’s narrative

• Key themes in Jesus’ teaching

• Important historical and cultural background

• Words or expressions that deserve closer attention

When insights from the original Greek language help clarify meaning, they are explained clearly so that readers do not need any prior training in biblical languages.

Designed for Careful Bible Readers

This study was written for anyone who wants to move beyond surface-level reading and better understand the Gospel of Matthew.

It is well suited for:

• Individual Bible study

• Christians seeking a deeper understanding of Scripture

• Readers moving beyond devotional-level studies

• Teachers studying the Gospel of Matthew

No seminary training or specialized knowledge is required—only a desire to read the text carefully.
