This topic has always troubled me. For all of my adult life, I have tried to seek the true meaning of a God for myself. While growing up, I was introduced to the God of my mother's choosing, the Christian God of the Bible and most of Western Civilization. As I grew older, I sought to find an understanding of God that would coincide with my inner self rather than being in conflict with it. I was so disenfranchised with organized religion because none of my inquiries were ever fully explained to the point of satisfaction and I was always told not to question God. I couldn't understand why I was told to believe in something that didn't make sense. Even as a young spirit I knew that the truth shouldn't have to be justified and that it should feel right in my being. Everywhere I looked I would only see contradictions until eventually I decided to steer clear of Christianity and I veered to the far right and began practicing Islam. Unfortunately, I came into Islam by way of the Nation of Islam which turned out to be a radical separatist group of black revolutionaries that were seeking something just as I was. I was introduced to a side of myself that didn't set well with me after a very short period of time. I started to see myself as different and I began to practice separation based upon the teachings of these individuals.
I began to harbor a hatred that was instilled in me against my better judgment. Eventually, like El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X), I began to see the contradictions and again I was told not to question Allah's wisdom. In due course, I separated myself from this organization and sought to practice Islam in its truest form as a Sunni Muslim through the edicts of Al-Islam. Ultimately, after learning the various prayers and prayer times, the disciplines and structures of being a Muslim, I finally realized that while Islam certainly served its purpose, it wasn't what I was seeking.
I started to gravitate towards other eastern philosophies like Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism each of which I found to be very enlightening and fulfilling. What I began to notice was that each of these philosophies including Christianity and Islam all consisted of some of the same edicts and fundamental teachings and they were all saying the same thing in a round- about sort of way. What I came to understand is that there is a rudimentary truth to all things and that truth is that we each must seek to find the best interpretation of God for ourselves. I've learned that while these belief systems are great for some, still they are only a means to an end.
Furthermore, Institutionalized religion has set out to monopolize the underlying principles of the Universe and has camouflaged them as proprietary teachings. Ultimately it all comes down to this; God is many things to many people. There is no 'cookie cutter' approach to understanding God. However, the irrefutable truth is that God is and forever will be subject to one's own interpretation and no one can ever tell anyone how or when or where to carry out their beliefs.
"I want you to forget everything you have ever learned in your whole life. This is the beginning of a new understanding, a new dream." These are the words of Don Miguel Ruiz author of The Four Agreements (1997). Some eighteen years ago, I did exactly as Ruiz is suggesting. I forgot everything I had ever learned about what God was supposed to be and opened myself up to a new understanding. Since then I have learned that I have chosen to manifest here for my greater purpose and that all earth spirits have chosen to manifest as lower spirits in order to fully evolve into pure consciousness. I understand that the earth plane is a lesson of sorts in order to be made aware of all the many avenues of growth, through pain and sorrow, joy and happiness but more importantly, through the awareness of consciousness.
While I must admit, it was a very hard thing to do with all the strong holds of generation upon generation of indoctrination and religion, it has been the most gratifying thing I have ever done. I have extended my consciousness to a place where my perception of God has expanded considerably. Before I lived according to societies rigid belief systems and I felt hindered. I felt boxed into believing what others said God was and I was forced into this believe and yet deep inside of me I knew that there had to be something more. The whole life and death scenario just didn't seem reasonable and I kept asking myself the Higher Self, what's the use? Why have I come here if it's just to die and cease to exist? The whole song and dance about heaven and hell was certainly not resonating in my spirit and it was then that I set out to find a deeper more consistent understanding of God for myself. Once I started seeking truth, I was able to embark upon a spiritual journey of being guided by the Universe.
I've come to understand that spirituality cannot be taught. To try and teach someone what it is to be spiritual denies the very nature of spirituality because it is unique to each individual. There are many roads to enlightenment and if the road you're on has already been taken, chances are you're on the wrong path. Each person must find for themselves what it is they have come here for not only in this lifetime but as a conscious being caught up on the wheel of reincarnation and repeated lifecycles. No matter how many times you deny the truth, it's still the truth. Truth is everlasting. Once I started to seek the truth on a deeper level, I began to see things from an entirely different perspective. It was as if my eyes had suddenly become opened after a lifetime of living in the dark.
In the movie The Matrix, Neo wakes up after choosing to take the red pill of enlightenment and he says, "Why do my eyes hurt," of which his guide Morpheus replies, "because you've never used them." For my entire life I only used my physical sight never realizing that there was a spiritual sight that I had yet to employ. Like Neo, I had to learn how to live all over again. Imagine if you will, being born without sight and then suddenly you're able to see in a whole new way. Everything you once knew in terms of sense and sound and touch all becomes radically different because there are new elements involved. Such it is with spirituality. Behold, old things are passed away and all things become like new. It's like being born again in the spiritual sense.
Today, I consider myself to be eighteen years old in the spiritual sense with many things yet to learn. I'm excited about the since of freedom that this understanding has given me. I'm no longer in bondage to false beliefs that have kept me in fear for so many years. I have relinquished the chains of ignorance and folly and have since embraced an existence of nurturing and love. Each and every experience I have today doesn't carry a painful lesson with it. Many of my lessons today are lovingly and patiently rendered. It's only when I reject the lesson that I start to experience pain. It's the resistance to change that causes me pain not the change itself. While I must admit, I'm still learning to embrace this new concept and at times I even forget that everything is spiritual even when I don't see it. I know that underneath the superficial faade of what may be happening that there is a higher wisdom at work seeking to bring me to the next level of awareness in each and every situation I might find myself. Having this mindset makes life an exciting experience of evolution. I know longer feel victimized by life and I know that I bring each and every situation into my field of awareness based upon where I'm at in this process of discovery. This takes away the luxury of blaming my situation on any and everyone and forces me to take full responsibility for the reality that I've created for myself. Spirituality brings great freedom but by the same token, there is also a huge responsibility because as a co-creator with the Source, I have to be forever mindful of what I'm creating at all times based upon my thoughts and where I focus my energy in any given situation. I know that energy flows where my attention goes. This helps me to be aware in most cases of where I'm focusing my attention.
Living conscious and having a spiritual ideology towards life, is truly liberating. I'm free to do, have or be anything I desire so long as I understand the responsibilities that come along with this power. At times I feel fortunate or should I say chosen while many others have still not awakened from their slumber. I have to remember that consciousness is a constant unfolding of ideas and concepts that may take others a while longer to accept. I know that at some point, we will all become aware of the spirit that seeks to shake us from the depths of our being to arouse us into consciousness and the dream state will be over. Then and only then will be able to live in paradise again.
Hopefully by now your mind is open or perhaps you've developed a better understanding of your true nature and you are better able to understand what your true purpose is as a spiritual being. Over the course of my existence, I have come to understand that the spiritual journey is a unique one and that everything that I have ever encountered in life whether I consider it to be good, bad or indifferent has all served a greater purpose for me. Although coming to this state of awareness has taken me quite a bit of time, I can now see that there are no coincidences and that everything, absolutely everything happens exactly as it should according to the divine laws of the Universe. It is only when we begin to see that there is truly a greater power at work that we are able to understand the ramifications of our deeds and learn to adjust our way of viewing this world and our place in it as spiritual beings. We have come here by choice, to learn and grow from all that the earth plane has to offer in the way of life's lessons. We are each eternal beings and the lives we now lead are not the beginning nor are they the end of a magnificent journey toward greater enlightenment.
There is great freedom in spirituality. Once we are able to shun the age old lies that have been imposed upon us by those living in fear seeking only to control the masses, we will then be able to step out of darkness and into the marvelous light. This light is the pure essence of God in all its' splendor, God in the truest sense and not diluted by religion or dogma. Once we make the shift from the ideas that have been deeply ingrained in our consciousness by outdated traditions and generations of misinformation, we will have gained liberty from a spiritual tyranny that has long since been imposed upon humanity. We will begin to seek out the truth for ourselves no longer falling for whatever someone else offers us. We will question the status quo and become agitated by things being the way they are. Once this shift occurs, our realities will change and we will finally see the matrix which is our life for all that it is, nothing more than a mere delusion. Our eyes will be opened and truth will reign supreme because now the light of truth is shed upon falsehood and the dark can no longer exist in the light. We must each come into our own awareness of God with each gradual nudge of our spirit. Every occurrence, every lesson and every awakening will slowly beckon us into full reality. My journey may not be the same as yours but I know for certain that there are many paths but only one summit, I'll meet you there.
What will follow in the pages to come is a wide-spread interpretation of what God is considered to be by many. We will discuss many varying aspects of what God is and the diverse nomenclatures that are attributed to this power. So remember ... forget everything you've ever been taught and open your mind if just for a moment in order that you may receive a new understanding.
In the end, you will find like I did that no matter what you call God, It's basically all the same. For in this realm of existence we will come to see that 'we' are the alpha and the omega experiencing consciousness as the All-in-All.
All-in-All
Matter is defined as the formless substratum of all things which exists only potentially and upon which form acts to produce realities. Matter is also material substance that occupies space, has mass, and is composed predominantly of atoms consisting of protons, neutrons, and electrons, that constitutes the observable Universe. World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking says in his book A Brief History Of Time (1998), that matter on the earth is mainly protons and neutrons, which in turn are made up of quarks. Knowing that God is pure energy and the source of all things, it is safe to say that based upon physics, that God is the nucleus which comprises all things as the All-in-All. Physicists refer to this subatomic particle as Higgs Boson or 'The God Particle'. Pantheism is a belief system derived from the Greek: 'pan' = all and 'theos' = God, it literally means "God is All" and "All is God."
In looking at this from a scientific view point, let's examine a few key elements of the material world in which we exist. In the 19th century, John Dalton, through his work on stoichiometry, which is the calculation of quantitative (measurable) relationships of the reactants and products in a balanced chemical reaction, concluded that each element of nature was composed of a single, unique type of particle. Dalton and his contemporaries believed these were the fundamental particles of nature and thus named them atoms, after the Greek word atomos, meaning 'indivisible'. However, near the end of the century, physicists discovered that atoms were not, in fact, the fundamental particles of nature, but conglomerates of even smaller particles. Author William Henry describes this in his book Cloak of the Illuminati (2003), by saying: '21st century science tells us the fundamental building blocks of reality are vibrating "strings," an idea that the ancients appear to have been familiar with. String theory is the idea that all matter is made out of tiny loops of vibrating string. How does this work? Atoms are made from electrons and the nucleus which if split consists of many other particles. These particles are made of quarks. In string theory quarks and electrons are nothing but tiny loops of vibrating string. Simply put, superstring theory says that all particles and forces are manifestations of different resonances of tiny one-dimensional strings or possibly membranes vibrating in ten dimensions. They're so small our science and technology cannot detect them. Superstring theory further postulates that there are two types of strings-strings with a clockwise vibration that lives in a 10-dimensional space and strings with a counter-clockwise vibration that live in 26-dimensional space.'
Everything consist of atoms which in turn are made up of even smaller particles called subatomic particles such as; a proton, which is an elementary particle that is identical with the nucleus of the hydrogen atom, that carries a 'positive' charge numerically equal to the charge of an electron, which is an elementary particle consisting of a 'negative' charge, and a neutron, which is an uncharged elementary particle that has a mass nearly equal to that of the proton and is present in all known atomic nuclei except the hydrogen nucleus. Hadrons are a class of subatomic particles that includes protons and neutrons. When they collide, they explode into dozens of other particles even more infinitesimal and fleeting which constitutes our physical Universe.
