The publication of the first edition of Traction Recognition gave information about all of the locomotives and multiple units operated on Britain's main-line railways. This second edition is the fully revised and expanded volume, covering significant changes to the railways of Britain since publication of the first edition. In particular a large number of new franchisees have entered the business, resulting in a number of new liveries, whilst further 'open access' operators have also emerged. New types of rolling stock have also been delivered, most notably the Class 395 EMUs designed for service over the high-speed line from Kent to London. Colin J Marsden has recorded the changes over the past 3 years making this the most up to date Traction Recognition title on the market, a must have for any rail enthusiast.
