Inhaltsangabe: Book by Stahl, Norman
From Library Journal:
The history of the New York real estate and construction industries is related through the saga of several generations of two families. Torn from their Austrian estates by war, Hannah Oakhill and Jack Grant and their descendants have a love-hate relationship in both their personal and business lives in Manhattan. The reader may have similar feelings for the novel. None of the characters is very likeable; they seem almost determined to destroy themselves as well as each other. Fortunes made and lost, greed, degradation, lust, incest, murder, and revenge all have a place in the story, as do raunchy language and a variety of sexual perversions. Though overlong and slow in spots, the action heats up to make the book hard to put down. This could well become a best seller. Andrea Lee Shuey, Dallas P.L.
