“You know you are reading a good book when you don’t want it to end. Well, as the book thundered toward its conclusion, I didn’t want it to end.... and when it did, I cried!

“As the action intensifies, the book becomes mesmerizing, meaningful and magical..... the reader is ‘on the hook,’ but Dutch takes care of the reader, too.... his willingness to be vulnerable and explore the complex emotional landscape of the characters is the hallmark of a great read. I can’t wait to be back on the prairie with Tom, Soft Cloud, Buck and their ponies for the next two parts of the trilogy!”
— Bobbie Jo Lieberman, Editor-in-Chief, trailBLAZER magazine, award-winning writer, and author of “Sassy Salad Secrets: Supercharge Your Diet & Recapture Your Health by Unlocking the Power of Living Foods”

“A Story of Times Past – Hard-times with hatred, sorrow and grief. Then triumph, friendship, love. And Trust. War and New Beginnings. Obligations and following through. Follow “Tom Named by Horse’s” journey – It will Captivate you. A GREAT Read.”
—Tina Mae Weber- Co-Host of “SADDLE UP AMERICA” Equestrian Legacy Radio, Trail Rider and Saddle Designer.

“What a ride! You only thought you knew what was going to happen next. I liked the fast moving, action packed plot while enjoying the little vignettes about the various characters. It's a western through and through, in the same vein as Louis L'Amour or Zane Grey. If I was a teacher, it'd be required reading for my class.”
- Ron Secoy, author Cowboy Psalms

The only man ever to offer Tom respect is Red Cloud. The only woman to give him love is Red Cloud’s granddaughter. Struggling with his own personal demons, Tom finds himself wedged between honoring that friendship and staying true to the depths of his conscience. Amid a backdrop of tumultuous social upheaval, he finds nothing prepared him, the woman he loves or Chief Red Cloud, for the changes about to thunder into their lives, sweeping them helplessly into the tides of human conflict and historical drama.
