Über diesen Titel

When David Hays was sixty-six and joined a synagogue for the first time in over fifty years, he decided to study Hebrew and become a bar mitzvah. And so this father of two grown children and coauthor of the bestselling "My Old Man and the Sea" borrowed his grandson's Hebrew primer and joined a class of twelve-year-olds. Thus was launched a wondrous journey of faith and community. In "Today I Am a Boy," Hays's new world begins to intersect with his own history as he grapples with his mother's death and watches his grandchildren awaken to life's wonders. At a time when most of us begin to slow down, the ardent boy in this eminent man has been reawakened. "Today I Am a Boy" is a brave, clear-eyed, and joyous examination of life.

About the Author:

David Hays is the author, with his son, of the New York Times bestseller My Old Man and the Sea. He has designed the sets and lighting for more than fifty Broadway plays and musicals, and ballets for George Balanchine at New York City Ballet. In a second career, he founded and led the National Theatre of the Deaf. He lives in Chester, Connecticut.
