The story is about Kindness. Generosity. Faith. Purpose. Challenge. Community. But more than these, the story is a window into the Filipino spirit, its character and culture. Sam, a Filipino US immigrant, successful in his career, is pushed into early retirement. He finds his new, comfortable life bereft of purpose and remembers the town where he grew up. He decides to return to his “home away from home” where he finds no violence but poverty, no mayhem but corruption. He takes on these challenges of the town’s people, making them his own.
