"Here is a saga of Western Empire, a story of the west during its days of growing pains--an era of pioneering, strikes, murders, wars, and intrigues, with two colorful and dominant czars enthroned amid scenes of historic import. F. G. Bonfils, a Corsican and a descendant of Napoleon, and his partner, H. H. Tammen, of Holland Dutch blood, were for forty years the rulers of the Rocky Mountain region. They owned the Denver Post, at once the most sensational as well as one of the most prosperous newspapers in America."--from DJ. History. United States. The West.
