Is Your Golf Driving You Crazy?
It’s not surprising. The game is hard.
Despite their smooth swings and perfect putting strokes, even good players succumb to pressure. The greats have something else. Something you can’t see or measure.
Something that isn’t found in books, magazines or YouTube videos. The good news is - you have it too.
But only if you know where to find it.
We all know the symptoms of the misunderstanding.
- Snakes in your stomach standing on the first tee
- Self-sabotaging on the last few holes of a good round.
- Sleepless nights before playing with people you don’t know
- Playing well in practice but choking in competitions.
The choice is yours. Go with the herd or try a new approach?
Continue trying to mitigate the effects?
Or do you want to understand and deal with the root cause?
This book is not a quick fix or a coping strategy.
It is a manifesto for a new way of playing. And for living your life.
"This book is outstanding... and NOT just for golfers. I learned a great deal about the way my mind works. It’s applicable to all sports and performance and actually my whole life."
James. Avid golfer and reviewer.
“Your game and your life can't help but be enhanced by reading this book."
Dr Karl Morris - Performance Coach to Six Major Champions and over 100 Tour Professionals.
“Mentally, golf might just be the hardest sport of all.
When I was playing football, even if I was having a poor game I could dig in, run harder, make more tackles, use grit and willpower to raise my spirits and get the job done.
Golf isn’t like that. The harder you try, the worse it gets.
The ideas in this book will help you understand how your mind works. How to get out of your own way. How to take the pressure off yourself.
And those are useful things to know. Not just on the field of play, but in the rest of your life as well.”
Lee Dixon. Professional Footballer for Arsenal and England.
Is Golf Driving You Crazy?
This Book Will Tell You Why
To be a good golfer, you need to understand two things.
You need to understand the game.
And you need to understand yourself.
The game is simple. Get the ball in the hole as quickly as possible.
It’s the second area where many golfers are confused.
A simple game becomes complicated because most people don’t understand how their mind really works.
This misunderstanding shows up in all the questions golfers are asking themselves when they play or practice.
Why do I never play my best golf when I really want to?
Why is it so difficult to fix and improve my golf swing?
Why do I feel nervous on the first tee?
Why do I always seem to sabotage myself when I have a good round going?
Why do I enjoy golf one day, but find it frustrating and hard work the next?
Many golf psychologists offer mental strategies and techniques to cope with the apparent pressures of the game and to address how golfers feel on the golf course.
This book is different.
Great golfers play with a clear mind, rather than one which is clouded with doubt, confusion and a list of swing thoughts and ‘must dos.’
Discover how you can see past the illusion which leads to all the questions and overthinking, allowing your natural ability and best golf to emerge more often.

Author Interview:
Why did you write this book ?
I played full time golf for the best part of ten years, as a scratch amateur and as a pro on the mini tours.
I quickly discovered that the advice I was being given by sports psychologists and coaches didn’t really work.
When I started coaching other people I began to understand why golfers find it so hard to play their best golf when they really want to. This book describes what I learned.
Who is it for ?
Any golfer who is struggling to play as well as they know they can on a regular basis.
Any golfer whose handicap has stopped coming down or is on the way up.
Any golfer who is frustrated with taking lessons and practicing but not improving.
Any golfer who isn't enjoying their golf as much as they used to.
How will it help ?We all play our best golf when we have less thinking going on rather than more.
This book explains how your mind works. When you understand how something works , you don't question, doubt or fear it.
Buying this book will allow you to play with more freedom, more clarity of mind and more enjoyment.
The foreword to the book is written by Dr Karl Morris, mental coach to two previous Open Champions.
"It is rare these days that I come across a golf coaching book which holds my attention from start to finish. It is also rare to find a book about the mind written by someone who is genuinely at the 'coal face' of both playing and coaching as opposed to classroom theory.
Sam Jarman has written such a book. It will do what a great book should by challenging your existing beliefs and making you think about the way you either play or coach the game.
It is not more of the same 'positive thinking' and 'affirmation' nonsense but a genuine inquiry about how our mind actually interacts with our body to either make or break our performance.
Do your game and your life a favour by reading this book."
