Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: James Murison was brought up in the North East of Scotland and is the son of a farm laborer. At the age of fifteen, a month before his sixteenth birthday, he joined the British Army as a boy soldier. After serving seven years in the regular army he left and did a farther five years in the territorials. He has turned his hands to many things over the years in the pursuit of work. He began his civilian career by driving a chippy van, moved on to working in an explosives factory and from there the jobs became many and varied. He has worked as a laborer on building-sites, on the roads, in peat bogs, in hotels as waiter and kitchen porter. He had driven removal vans and was a porter in Edinburgh. He has driven Taxis and picked tatties. At this moment in time he is studying for a degree in software development as well as writing. He began writing in the late 90's and had completed fifteen novels before deciding to try and publish them. His reluctance to publish was due mainly because of his dyslexia. He knew without doubt he would be slated for it and was proved right. To this day the only negative comments made about his writing is due to his dyslexia. One day he hopes to take his work to a mainstream publisher where this problem will be a thing of the past. However he believes this path, though a lot tougher, will help him in the long run, overcome some of his disability. J W Murison is a character writer and his many jobs throughout his working life has ensured a rich variety of ingredients to choose from while baking up a new character. The main characters in his novels are normally Scottish even though the books are not always set in Scotland.
