These insects appear about a week before the pre ceding species, hatching out from their oval shiny eggs and clustering at the tip of the buds. Only one complete generation is spent on the apple, since a considerable pro portion of the second generation and all the third generation, migrate to grasses where the rest of the summer is passed. Like the Rosy Aphis, the egg is deposited by the sexual female upon the apple twigs.
