Love and Relationships

It is interesting that we normally look at this topic with the ideas we were raised to believe. My question is, Where did our elders learn these beliefs? My choice is to always ask the ones who have had the most success as well as those who have made the most mistakes. Not profound, but you will quickly realize the true effort needed to be great at love and relationships.

If I ever had the thought, "If I could do it all over again ..."

It simply means

I never truly appreciated the gift it was when I first experienced it.

    Unconditional

    The power of passion, the strength of will,
    the need for opinion when only the heart needs a fill.

    To decide upon fate without the ration of reason
    is to speed up the blossom of a rose
    just because it's in season.

    The consistent findings of objection
    in a court with no case.
    For the emotionally weary defendant,
    a love-filled tear fell down his face.

    We construct walls of extremities
    so tall that clouds struggle not to collide
    with love's desperate fight to get through,
    only to watch the builder
    make the heart move aside.

    Love cannot be willed; it's a joint effort, and it's best
    when one wills and then forgets. For the other,
    love becomes contained and oppressed.

    Love is unconquerable beauty
    with the depth of the undiscovered ocean.
    But when the hands of love cradle you,
    you'll know it.
    It becomes unconditional devotion.


    Change

    I never thought that
    life would stop me in my tracks.
    But now I am a believer.

    I never thought that I would
    change my reality of facts.
    But now I feel like an achiever.

    I never thought my
    personal fears would hold me back.
    But now my defense is the receiver.

    I never thought that my feelings of loss
    would change my life intact.
    But now my loss hurts deeper.

    I never thought that after all of this,
    I would desire so much effort exact.

    But my eternal peace now tells me
    I will never need again,
    forever.


    Just Once

    I once knew a love so amazing
    that I had no idea what it was.

    I once knew a love with so much impact
    that all others had exposed flaws.

    I once knew a love so self-containing
    that I occasionally fought it for personal cause.

    The pursuit of that one love
    is something that many never find.

    If it is only once known,
    then maybe life is more comfortable
    with what it now has.


Never make life-changing
personal decisions
through the advice of vengeful words.
The results are never recourse,
and the decision is yours
to live with.


    Love Maturity

    My efforts in pursuit of love
    have met with much time wasted.
    It is still a pursuit without deter.

    My continued change of direction
    has shown only a lesson in virtue.
    It is still an open heart to explore.

    My hurt, without boundary and vulnerable,
    has become an easy target for the passing.
    It is still the excitement of new love I adore.

    My understanding of love
    is confusing to some and seen as weakness.
    It is a forever belief that an open heart—and the opposite as
    the only other choice—
    still has a greater chance of achieving
    incredible love and amazing life.

    With the scorn,
    while losing so much unredeemable life,
    some believing love is only about
    keeping score.


    Chance

    So many go through life,
    sifting through personal chapters
    in search of that special soul mate.

    Some few have been blessed
    with its opportunity
    and yet cautiously walk through
    experiences that can create
    incredible memories.

    Isn't that what life is about,
    special memories?
    So, if time cannot go back,
    let your heart live
    and let your mind decide value.


    True Friendship

    To dream upon the brightest star
    and wake in search of the perfect night.

    To know true belief will take you there
    or show troubled eyes to see brilliant light.

    The gift to turn straw into gold
    without the voice of challenge or demand.

    The ability to soothe one's unknown pain
    by mere words of compassion and extension of
    one's hand.

    To strive completely the daily right of all wrong
    with followed support and continuous admiration.

    To observe the occasional numbers dwindle
    without knowing the leader's struggle with emotional
    desertion.

    Still, without hesitation, the search for life renews
    without defeat or fear of eventual end.
