Meet Stchvk, a detective so hard-boiled he hatched from an egg.

This saurian P.I. works the green streets of Layafflr City, bringing justice to the downtrodden of the triune Great Family. Unfortunately, the downtrodden don't pay very well. The criminals of Layafflr have the money and power. Stchvk does his best to balance the scales with sharp claws and a sharper wit. He'll solve your case or die trying. All right, sustain critical injuries. But he'll absolutely take - or give - a beating if it's necessary to success. On the wide, wild frontier world of Spore, crime can take some strange and dangerous turns. Only an investigator with experience on both sides of the law can chase down the truth and rip out its steaming entrails.

If you want proof, read his recorded Casefiles. In the first case, "Bad Egg", an influential Herd hires Stchvk to prove the innocence of a member accused of public assault and worse, public indecency. In his second case, "Broken Record", Stchvk investigates a murder for a former love interest, while avoiding assassins, seductions, and his own sordid past.

Stchvk Casefiles #1 is the third book published in the Empyrean Dreams science-fiction setting created by Laine Megan Lundquist and Nathan Large.

Nathan's writing is informed by a doctorate in Cognitive Psychology from the University at Buffalo, more than twenty years writing and storytelling in a variety of role-playing formats, and a lifelong fascination with mythology both historic and modern. His science fiction work is primarily set in the Empyrean Dreams universe created by co-writer Laine Lundquist, but also includes short stories, a 'hard' sci-fi novel and two science fantasy novels in progress. He also writes fantasy, weird horror, short essays, and 'new mythology', and presents retellings of classic mythology for public gatherings. Nathan is a practicing Pagan, skilled home cook, and gaming enthusiast (RP, board, video, logic, wordplay, etc.). He lives with his wife, Alicia, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Laine Lundquist is a dreamer who has drifted across this and possibly other worlds in her time on Earth. She was raised by anthropologists in the frozen hinterlands of Western New York and grew up in in a long series of highly unlikely environments. She is a compulsive and sometimes impulsive blogger (Writing about Pagan-related subjects at The Lady's Quill, among other venues). She serves her spiritual communities as a seeress and a priestess of Freyja, amidst the mists of the San Fransisco Bay.
