Special Forces Sniper Training and Employment

The purpose of this manual is to provide doctrinal guidance on the mission, selection of personnel, organization, equipment, training, skills, and employment of the Special Operations Sniper.The Special Operations (SO) sniper is a selected volunteer specially trained inadvanced marksmanship and field-craft skills who can engage selected targets fromconcealed positions at ranges and under conditions that are not possible for the normalrifleman, in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions.This manual contains detailed information on thefundamental knowledge, skills, and employment methods of snipers throughout the entireOperational Continuum.
