Spanish Roots of America, a 391-page book on the presence of the Spanish-speaking people in the United States from 1492 to 1992 (New Jersey 1992 and 2004). The Spanish presence in America was established long before the arrival of the Pilgrims. The influence of Spain has left an indelible mark on the geography and history of the United States.
This book  highlights the United States' Spanish heritage, a dimension of the United States past that is unknown to many Americans. It presents the pioneering efforts of extraordinary people who brought Western European knowledge, culture and faith to this land.Part One provides brief reflections on the principle Spanish contributions to this country. Part Two offers a year-by-year narrative of concrete facts or salient events which have occurred in the past five hundred years.
Spanish Roots of America details the events in 1776 that led Spain to aid in the independence of the Thirteen Colonies, as well as countless other historical facts and events.
