When journalist Ella McClure is contacted by a terrorist cell demanding airtime, she assumes it's the story of her career. But as the violence escalates and the usual explanations fall apart, Ella finds herself pulling at threads that lead far beyond any government she knows—into the operations of intelligence agencies working to suppress a discovery that would redefine humanity's place in the universe.

The deeper she digs, the more dangerous the attention she attracts. And the stranger who walks into her life at exactly the wrong moment may be the only person who understands what she's uncovered — or the reason she was allowed to uncover it at all.
