Sources and Analogues of Old English Poetry: Major Latin Texts in Translation

This book is now a standard reference work for students of Old English, since it covers all the important Latin material connected with Anglo-Saxon poetry, and only omits analogues of a relatively slight nature or substantially later in date, excerpts from the Bible and material for Beowulf and Guthlac (already in print). Most of the texts translated here are difficult of access and often of considerable linguistic difficulty; thus both undergraduates and scholars will find their presentation in one volume extremely useful.
