Chapter One
The Great Commission
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen"
Matthew 28:19-20(KJV)
"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel, them to come in, that my house may be filled."
Luke 14:23(KJV)
God loved us so much that he chose to create himself as a man, inferior to that of the angels to save us from eternal damnation. In the book of Philippians it states "Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2:6-8) Jesus was sent by God to fulfill the will of God. Jesus stated in John 6:38 "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." His sole purpose of living was to die to redeem mankind from sin. If Jesus did not come, and if he had not died it will be impossible for mankind to be saved by God's grace, and there could not be any remission of sins. The last three years, of Jesus natural life he spent preaching and teaching God's word, casting out devils, and setting the foundation for the great commission.
A lot of speculations have been formulated, and inquiries were raised about Jesus Christ. Some presume, or declare He was merely a prophet like Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and many others. In addition, a number of people have stated there was nothing spectacular about his life that needs to be identified above the life of others. Jesus was, and is the only man that has ever, and will ever walk the face of the earth that can be considered equal to God. Jesus is God, was a man, and conceived by the Holy Ghost. He did not have two natural parents such as the entire human race. He had a stepfather named Joseph, but his biological Father was God. Jesus was a unique vessel who birthed the existence of the new covenant, which is mankind being "saved" by grace. He spent a total of 33 years here on the face of the earth. Before Jesus departure he reminded all his disciples about the great commission, being a part of their job description.
The Great Commission was the ordinance given to man over 2,000 years ago from Jesus Christ, after His resurrection on Calvary, before His ascension into Heaven. Jesus gave mankind the charge and the mission for the church, which includes three phases; travel near and far, educate all nations, and baptize all believers in the name of the Trinity making disciples of all men. The charge given to us from our Lord is simple, but man has made it so complex and vague. The Great Commission is no longer a mission carried out by the local church; instead it is a mandate that is scarcely fulfilled. There is absolutely nothing new that God is doing in this day that differs from times past. The words of our Lord are the same now as they were over 2,000 years ago. God has not changed, as it is stated in Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I change not", nor was the words which He had spoken. He requires the same respect, exaltation, and obedience as He had always commanded since the beginning of time.
Society seems to think that God's word will not come to past and there is no truth in it. Mankind has deceived themselves and has allowed room in their hearts to be deceived by Satan and his evil devices. One of the devices and tactics Satan uses to deceive man is man himself. (If we say we have no sin we are liars) the bible states in 1 John "if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8) The other device is another human that surrenders themselves to be used in order to manipulate people, of all different ages, regardless of race, nationality, and social class status. Deception has no prejudice and Satan targets the younger generation as well as the older generations.
Many ministers of today assemble churches with the assumption there is no way in the world they would make the same mistakes as some of the fallen prophets, but in the end, their pride has gotten the upper hand. More and more fallen prophets, ministers, and teachers are stumbling with their salvation because the generation grows wickeder and wickeder as the years elapse. For that reason alone they are unable to fulfill the instruction of our Lord, which is to make disciples of all men. Ministers of today are not equip to practice what they preach, causing the church to lose its reputation as a sacred place of worship.
In previous years, churches were known to be a safe haven, where men and women of all ages could go to receive a healing, both physically and spiritually. The church and its believers' would encourage the "backslider" to repent and re-establish those who have been spiritually beaten and broken. Men and women would come to the house of God, give up their sinful lifestyle, and find rest for their souls. Nevertheless, somewhere along the line, Christians have allowed the enemy to change their way of living and forsake the presence of God until the power of God has departed from their personal life, as well as the churches.
Sanctuaries were never perfect, but there were some that strive for perfection because they allowed Jesus to lead them and to be their foundation. In addition, anything and everything could not have free course in the house of God. In former years, it was not rare to have sinners redeemed, filled with the Holy Ghost, and given the ability to speak in other tongues. Then a few years later to see that person preaching, or teaching the word of the Lord with truth, and power that another soul may come to the realization there is a better life with Christ. As I previously stated, that is the sole purpose of the great commission, but Christians and Churches are missing the mark. Instead of compelling all men women, they are contributing to what we now see; a spiritual famine that has spread from coast to coast.
Chapter Two
Spiritual Famine
"Behold, the days come saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north even to the east they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it".
Amos 8:11-12 (KJV)
