Chapter One
BirthBlood streams down his arm, Sweat drips from his brow, muscles ach from wielding his long sword. Over the Corse of what seemed to be a forever battle. He looks across the battle field. To see his fallen comrades a feeling of despair comes over Lord Alcus Kelm. Within the woods a horn can be heard as a new wave of enemy come forth from the darkness. Sweeping out crossing the field the pig like grunts cannot be mistaken orks. More Orks, more Orks Than they anticipated. He turns to the few standing. We shall hold them; he shouts till the reinforcements arrive. Sir Alcus Kelm Picking the sword up from his side. For honor and glory! He charges the enemy. Reaching the first Ork Alcus raises His sword the ork never knew what hit him. The Pig like man felt the blade puncher his rib cage feeling his breath harder to hold, and the warmth of his body leaving him. The Ork falls. Sir Alcus Kelm pushes forward to the next.
An about to be mother's wailing can be heard throughout the Keep of Sir Alcus Kelm. Bring me some more hot water the voice old yet wise from a gentleman of roughly mid forties. Hurry child, she is about to bring our young master into the world. The gentle face of the man, relaxes the about to be mother. Don't you worry I've delivered a few younglings in my time. Wind keeps howling from the window. As the ocean storm seams to pour forth its rage against the land Lightning strikes all about the Keep. With every strike of lightning, Lorna Kelm Tenses her muscles. My Lady you must try to relax. It is about that time and we don't want you to miss the birth do to the lack of energy. Bloom! A loud thunder clap outside the window of the birth room of the keep startles even the older gentleman. In his thoughts he looks at the window. I hope He returns safe. And I pray that the storm hasn't reached them yet. Kelm you are about to have a son, Come home!
The Sky's growing dark as the storm approaches inland. A solider yell's out. Lord Alcus, there is no way we are going to hold them. Eyes of the man scream of fear. Stand your ground We Shall Hold. Lord Alcus looks to the sky the weave of clouds turning darker. More menacing Thoughts of his wife with his unborn child race through his head. The horn blows again and another wave of Orks Pour forth from the dark woods. Moving through open terrain crossing the field quick The Orks Stop short of the on looking soldiers. Then a twang of strings can be heard like a wispier through the dark. Orks pull up massive wooden shields above their heads then crouch low to the ground. Dark death hells from above. Many men screaming falling to the earth for the last time till the darkness takes them. Feeling the sting of hornets looking down lord Alcus sees several arrows now protruding from his Armor. Struggling to get his breath he tries to get bearing of the battle field. A light flashes through his eyes. His Son, Wife, Home all destroyed by these beast, these vile creatures. Alcus Struggles to stand facing two Orks One to the left and right. He swings wide right turns and ducks from the swing of the mighty Ork on his left. Bringing his blade mid ways and dropping to a knee spinning to turn left catches the Ork with his tip and slices through its flesh, the eyes of the beast widen as the blade pushes through his hide armor. Blood spews across the blade and on the ground. A dull thud comes from the body of the beast. Yet he is too weak to turn, Alcus Feels a bash from an axe across his back. Armor gives away to the force of the blow, chain ripping under the weight of the orks swing. Head long Lord Alcus falls from his knees to the dirt. The pain fading, Vision blurring the light falling in and out. Lord Alcus thinks to himself, what do I see? He says in a whisper. Soldiers on horseback charging in to the opening of the field. Lord Alcus body could barley move his strength fading, as he lies there Lord Alcus then has some hope not for himself but for the ones left standing. Opening his eyes again lips barley moving may my men be saved. A smile crosses his lips they finally arrived. They finally arrived. A light seems to come for him. Shining down from the heavens star light finally pierces the storm and light now shines through. As the void draws near Lord Alcus shuts his eyes for the last time.
A High pitch cry can be heard, A Cry from a new born child. Thunder claps Loud At the window. Then all too quick a light from the stars shine down a light seems to be so powerful. It pushes the wooden window open to shine. The light through the open void of space embracing it brightness on the child moves slightly with the touch of the light. An Old gentle Man with a Kind voice look's down at the babe wrapped now in cloth. What shall you name him Lady Lorna? She raises her head to see her body strained from the pain and pushing of birth. And with a gentle hug she pulls him close. In her eyes a mother's love can be seen as she views her son looking to make sure all ten toes and all fingers are there. Kilen I shall call Him Kilen. The old man look's to the young girl which has been helping during the labor. Child sends word to the runner. Kilen Kelm, Son of Alcus Kelm is born this night. Send this word to the king. The young girl turns and leaves fast a new mission in her mind she loved doing things. She thought of each task as a little adventure. Hagard then look to stars to see the constellations burning with fire so bright that it would seem as if it was a new moon rising in the void of the dark. One constellation stood out from the rest. Searing the vision of the man the light from Akelm Var was the constellation. (The god of Battle.) (The Battle Master). This was a sign in the old man eyes. Hagard now walking back over to the bed side speaks softly. The child will be great he thought as he pulls the cover up a little tighter on the mother and child. Looking over them as they rest the old man sits down back into the chair.
Wind blows down the Celis Mountains as cold as An Ice Nymphs stare. The cold air can be felt to the bone. Heavy breathing, footsteps on the snow, a young Shadow Elf running, breathing hard grabbing her stomach caring an UN born child looking in all directions Running fast, Faster something behind her ,something follows. Hands pail as the blood leaves the area due to the cold. Her Breath rasped and steam shoots out of her mouth like hot little clouds. Stumbling picking herself up, she moves further. A drive in side her pushing herself more and more. Running away but from what or running away from someone. And why is she in the wilderness? And in the cold bearing a child. Why would she do this? Constantly turning her head back to see if something follows the Shadow Elf now feeling more labor pain moves faster the birth was near. Stumbling more and more, the Shadow Elf Felling her strength, strength succumbing to the cold trying not to give up she moves forward, a hand reaches out of the twisted trail. (An elf which you see would not feel the elements yet if an elf is sick or is going to give birth then an elf will succumb to the elements do to the chemical alteration of their body.) As she almost slips again there is a hand in front of her, to stop her from falling. She stops and stares. Quietly, Fear closing in as if she is going to be smothered by it. Causing a shudder to travel down her spine the Shadow Elf stops in an abrupt move. A gruff Deep Voice clears the cold air. Wearer ye be heading...
