Inhaltsangabe
The second in a two-volume series dealing with the use of concurrent processors in science and engineering, this book focuses on software which explicitly implements the algorithms presented in Volume I. The concurrent implementation of algorithms on real machines is emphasized. Then, with a strong bias toward practicality, the authors review the parallel hardware currently available, present a survey of applications on several parallel machines, introduce the implementation of the CrOS III communication system on a number of concurrent machines, describe a hypercube simulator which may be used to run the software presented in the volume, and discuss 17 application codes in detail. There is also a tutorial for parallel systems, using the CrOSIII communication system, to help new users become familiar with the concurrent implementation of simple regular problems on such systems.
