A Slumber in the Rainfall is a tender and intimate collection of poems about love, longing, memory, absence, and the quiet transformations brought by rain. Xinia Marie Estrada follows the traces a love leaves behind: a voice remembered, a suitcase being packed, an empty room, a scent lingering in the house, a song played on strings, a city waiting beneath the rain. Here, rain becomes both refuge and witness—washing away sorrow while awakening memories that refuse to disappear.

In these poems, rain becomes more than weather—it is a language of its own. It falls over cities, bridges, empty rooms, forgotten footsteps, and memories that refuse to disappear. Sometimes it soothes sorrow; sometimes it awakens desire. It washes the wounds of disappointment while bringing back the scent, voice, touch, and presence of someone who is no longer there.

A Slumber in the Rainfall moves between tenderness and melancholy with a deeply lyrical sensibility. These are poems for those who have loved beyond reason, waited through the storm, remembered what could not remain, and discovered that sometimes rain is the only thing capable of saying what the heart cannot. It is an invitation to surrender to memory, to listen to the music of longing, and to discover beauty in the places where love and loss meet.
